Dappled Driveway
A sun-dappled avenue draws the eye deep into the canvas, framed by an archway of overhanging trees in vivid greens, yellows and touches of red. Light falls in patches across the path below, breaking into pools of pink, cream and shadow that lead the viewer forward toward a glimpse of buildings in the distance. Fences and foliage line either side, painted with loose, energetic brushwork that captures the flicker of light through leaves.
Painted in Thérèse Healy Kelly's signature atmospheric style, the work uses bold colour and gestural mark-making to convey the sensation of walking beneath a dappled canopy rather than a literal record of the scene.
